We encourage all of our families to follow the 5210 message of getting at least 1 hour of physical activity each day. On this page, you can find helpful resources for physical activity such as online exercise videos and exercise tips.


Ideas for PE at home!

School is back in session, but with many kids participating in “distance learning,” one important element might be missing from their day: Physical education! It is important that parents help their kids to meet the recommendation of 60 minutes of physical activity each day. Below are some links for resources to bring P.E. to your home:

Outdoor Activities that Get You Moving! 

We know that it is important for kids to be active for at least one hour each day, and the easiest way to do that is to find fun activities that your children will enjoy that also get them moving. When kids get their physical activity through fun games and activities, it will never feel like a chore! Here are some ideas to get you started:
  •  Make an obstacle course with hula hoops, pool noodles and other household items
  •  Play games like tag, hopscotch, four square, follow the leader, or use chalk to draw a giant maze
  • Set up a slip-n-slide on the lawn
  • Do wheelbarrow or crabwalk races
  • Go on a walk as a family, or bring along scooters, bikes or roller skates
  • Play sports like soccer, basketball, football, volleyball, tennis or Frisbee
  • Jump rope, see who can get the most jumps in a row
  • Swim in a pool or at the lake
  • Race the tracks at a local high school
  • Create an outdoor scavenger hunt where your kids collect items from nature
  • Too hot outside? Try making an indoor obstacle course, play indoor baseball with balloons and an empty gift-wrap roll or pool noodle, do an indoor scavenger hunt, or try a kid-friendly online workout video
