The Human Bean Hosts Annual “Coffee for a Cure” Fundraiser to Support Breast Cancer Screenings

Coffee for a Cure

The Human Bean is once again inviting northern Nevadans to sip with purpose during its annual Coffee for a Cure fundraiser on Friday, October 16. From opening to closing at participating Reno and Sparks locations, 100% of proceeds and tips will be donated to Community Health Alliance (CHA) to help provide breast cancer screenings and navigation services for uninsured and underinsured women in our community.

The fundraiser, a longstanding partnership between The Human Bean and Community Health Alliance, helps remove financial barriers to preventive care and connects women with timely breast cancer screenings, diagnostic services, and support throughout the process.

“Early detection is one of the most powerful tools we have in the fight against breast cancer,” said Reproductive Health and Screening Supervisor Maria Partida. “Every cup purchased through Coffee for a Cure helps women access screenings they might otherwise delay or forgo. We’re incredibly grateful to The Human Bean and our community for helping make lifesaving care possible.”

Since partnering with Community Health Alliance in 2014, The Human Bean’s Coffee for a Cure fundraiser has helped thousands of local women access breast cancer screenings and follow-up care.

One participant shared the impact of the program:

“My doctor found a mass, which turned out to be cancer. I thank God it was caught in time, and I was able to have the malignant tumor removed.”

Breast cancer remains one of the most common cancers affecting women, and early detection through regular screenings can significantly improve outcomes. Funds raised during Coffee for a Cure help ensure that cost is not a barrier to accessing potentially lifesaving care.
