Biography
Nephtali Barrera was born in Los Angeles, California to immigrant parents and moved to Reno at age seven. He grew up in the North Valleys and graduated from North Valleys High School in 2007. In 2009, he joined the Nevada Air National Guard, where he met his wife; together, they continue to serve. They are blessed with two children. Nephtali earned an associate degree in healthcare administration from the Community College of the Air Force and a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Nevada, Reno. He completed his medical degree at UNR School of Medicine and his residency at UNR Family Medicine Residency. Proudly calling Reno home, he is dedicated to serving his community through evidence-based care and lifelong learning to ensure the best outcomes for his patients.

Outside of professional pursuits, Nephtali enjoys spending time with family, exploring the outdoors, and playing golf.
