From Then to Now: Celebrating the History and Impact of Community Health Alliance

For 14 years, Community Health Alliance (CHA) has been committed to one mission: providing high-quality, compassionate healthcare to everyone in our community, regardless of their ability to pay.

As we celebrate National Health Center Week, we’re taking a moment to reflect on where we started, how we’ve grown, and the incredible impact made possible by our patients, employees, partners, donors, and community supporters.

Then: A Vision to Expand Access to Care

Community Health Alliance was founded on the belief that everyone deserves access to healthcare. What began as a small community health effort has grown into a comprehensive healthcare organization serving thousands of patients throughout Northern Nevada.

Over the years, CHA has continued to evolve alongside the needs of our community. From providing essential primary care services to expanding access to dental care, behavioral health services, pharmacy services, women’s health, pediatrics, and more, CHA has remained focused on meeting patients where they are.

Growing to Meet Our Community’s Needs

As Northern Nevada has grown, so has the need for accessible, quality healthcare.

Today, CHA serves more than 36,000 patients annually through a team of more than 350 dedicated healthcare professionals, including physicians, physician assistants, nurses, behavioral health specialists, dentists, pharmacists, and many others who work together to provide whole-person care.

But our growth isn’t just measured in numbers. It’s measured in the families who receive preventive care, the children who get their school vaccines, the patients who receive support managing chronic conditions, the parents who access prenatal care, and the individuals who find hope through behavioral health services.

Now: Whole-Person Care for Our Community

Today, CHA continues to innovate and expand services to better serve our neighbors. Programs like our prescription food pantry, mobile medical and dental units, WIC services, maternal health program, and integrated behavioral health services reflect our commitment to addressing all aspects of health—not just what happens inside a health center.

Our recently completed Neil Road Health Center expansion represents the next chapter in CHA’s story, increasing access to care and creating more opportunities to serve patients for years to come.

While our locations and services have grown, our purpose remains the same: ensuring every person has access to the healthcare they need to live a healthier life.
