Community Health Alliance Recognized as 2019 All-Star Immunizer

Immunize Nevada, a statewide coalition dedicated to promoting health and preventing disease, and the Nevada State Immunization Program recently announced the Inaugural All-Star Immunizer Provider Recognition Awards. These awards recognize offices and clinics performing all-star work to vaccinate their child patient populations.

We are proud to announce that Community Health Alliance was recognized as a 2019 All-Star Immunizer.

To qualify, clinics and locations must be an enrolled Vaccines for Children provider, and do one or more of the following:

  • Reach 80% or higher for vaccination of two-year olds in the prior year (2019)
  • Be nominated by one or more of Nevada’s Managed Care Plans (Anthem, Health Plan of Nevada, Silver Summit) for your Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS) immunization measure achievement

“We are honored to be recognized as an All-Star Immunizer,” said Jennifer Wheeler, Director of Pharmacy. “It’s amazing knowing that we are providing life-saving immunizations to our community.”

Community Health Alliance is gearing up for the flu season and is offering two different flu vaccines at our pharmacies at Wells Ave. Health Center and Sparks Health Center. For uninsured patients, the quadrivalent flu shot, which is designed to protect against four different flu viruses, is $20 per person. The high-dose flu shot for individuals 65 and older is $67 per adult. Most insured patients are eligible for free flu shots. Please stop by at either of our pharmacies between 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. No appointment needed.

“Your health is vital to our community,” said Wheeler. “Be a community all-star and receive your flu vaccine.”
