New Reno Residents Find Compassionate, Accessible Care at Community Health Alliance

Accessing care quickly without added cost or complications made all the difference.

When Martin and his wife moved to Reno in April 2025, they knew finding the right healthcare provider would be essential. His wife, a medical professional, understood how important it was to choose a care team who truly respected and supported their patients. What they didn’t expect was how challenging their search would be.

With Medicare Advantage, they were surprised to learn they were being pushed toward concierge-style healthcare that would have cost them thousands of dollars each year. “We just wanted high-quality primary care that was affordable,” Martin shared.

Their search led them to Community Health Alliance’s Sparks Health Center, where they met Dr. Joshua Tartakoff, DO—and everything changed.

Although they live in South Reno, Martin and his wife don’t mind the drive to Sparks for their appointments. The quality of care makes the trip well worth it.

From their very first visit, they knew they had found the right fit. Dr. Tartakoff never rushed their appointments. He took time to listen, answer questions thoroughly, and truly understand their concerns. “You can tell he cares,” Martin said. “He’s attentive, patient, and always on time. That’s rare these days.”

When Martin needed care for an unexpected ailment, he was able to be seen the very same day through the Sparks Health Center’s same-day services. “That really impressed us,” he added. “Accessing care quickly without added cost or complications made all the difference.”

Their positive experience came full circle when Community Health Alliance presented at a recent Rotary Club of Reno luncheon—where Martin is a proud member. After the presentation, he shared his appreciation for the care he and his wife receive.
