Get Screened Health Fair Encourages Cancer Screenings
Receive Information About Regular Cancer Screenings and Preventative Care
Community Health Alliance, in partnership with the American Cancer Society, Nevada Cancer Coalition and Nevada Health Centers, is bringing the Get Screened Health Fair to the northern Nevada community on Thursday, Oct.21 from 4-6 p.m. The health fair will take place outdoors at Community Health Alliance’s Sparks Health Center parking lot on Oddie Blvd.
“Cancer screenings should be a regular part of your life,” said Maria Partida, Community Health Alliance’s cancer care coordinator. “Community Health Alliance provides screening tests to patients before a patient has any symptoms to help find cancer early, when it may be easier to treat.”
The community can expect to receive information about regular cancer screenings and preventative care at the health fair from various health partners in the community. They can also walk away with an appointment scheduled at Community Health Alliance to Get Screened.
Other resources available from 4 to 6 p.m. include:
- Fresh produce from the Food Bank of Northern Nevada
- Flu and COVID-19 vaccines
- Colin the Colon from Nevada Cancer Coalition
- Food for purchase from Preemos Food Truck
- …and more!
