Biography

Paul, a fifth generation Nevadan, was born and raised in Reno, surrounded by the beauty of the desert and the serenity of Lake Tahoe. His upbringing instilled in him a deep appreciation for his community and a strong sense of compassion.

After graduating high school, Paul embarked on a journey of service, working tirelessly in group homes to support individuals with developmental disabilities and in hospice care to provide comfort during their final moments. These experiences shaped his understanding of the challenges faced by vulnerable populations and fueled his determination to make a difference.

Driven by his passion for social work, Paul pursued a bachelor’s degree at the University of Nevada Reno School of Social Work. During this time, he dedicated a year to assisting those facing housing insecurity, gaining invaluable insights into the complexities of homelessness and the importance of stable housing.

Eager to expand his knowledge and skills, Paul went on to obtain his master’s degree at the same institution. As part of his clinical internship, he divided his time between a psychiatric hospital and a community mental health clinic. This allowed him to gain a comprehensive understanding of mental health issues and the various treatment approaches.

Paul enjoys helping individuals, families, and groups. With a focus on the bigger questions of life’s meaning and purpose, Paul delves into the core of each person’s problems, exploring how they manifest in thoughts, emotions, and actions.

He’s an avid reader of psychology, and has focused his training on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Existential Therapy, and Gestalt Therapy.
